I think the point here is that it's a fun hobby project. Sure, linux on the
MessagePad would be insane as far as platform usability goes. But the whole
idea of porting linux (or any other os) to a platform like this kind of goes
to the heart of the whole "geek" lifestyle -- it's a "neat" thing to do! I
for one would love to be able to install and run linux on my MessagePad, not
because I'd actually use it, but because it's something only a few people in
the world will ever do, and it would be really neat to have a shell on my
newton ^_^.
