You can always use the Windows paint application to dither the image. It
will certainly do a better job dithering than newton press.

Problem is apparently with the Windows version of
Newton Press...I downloaded a .gif from unna and tried
inporting it as a .bmp - with the same ditorting
effects. I'll keep playing, but I'l probably switch to
the Mac here and use Photoshop. Thanks for all the
advice!
