You can transfer files while within OS 9.

This is useful if you want to download something and try it out, but you are
not "sync"ing with any program. Some files don't work when transferred by
IrDA, but many will. The guy who posted this info had to sell his Newton
whenmoney was tight. If people find this useful, maybe someone can donate a
Newt to the guy.
