IIRC there were tips on the web how you can attach the inside antenna
to the metal housing to improve range, apparently one of the
improvements that Apple did in the new ones.

Did find some links to improve a Airport base-station:

but I'm still looking for the link where they described how to attach
the airport cable ti the inside of the housing...
