Did you try it after restarting with all extensions off first?
Otherwise a backup/wipe/restore of your card wouldn't be that much
work, and you were considering it anyway ;-)
Please note that wiping a card shouldn't be part of a 'Brain Wipe' but
should be done through the Card app.
