Of course I can:
The GPS mouse I got via Ebay for EUR 60,- which is a quiet good price for a
full featured 12 channel GPS receiver.
The receiver is fed from the 12V cigarrette lighter plug and has a 9 pin
SUB-D serial interface talking NMEA.
Thus it can be used with any platform/software providing a serial NMEA
interface, such as
several programs on the PC (MS Autoroute)or Mac and of course with GPSMAP on
the Newt.
To adapt to the Newt I use of course the famous SER-001 from PCBMan and a
9pin SUB-D to mini-DIN Adapter from PBK-solutions.
They even provide a schematic on their website that gives all the
information necessary to build that adapter on your own.
Here in the Netherlands I get mostly 10 to 11 out of the 12 max possible
satellites so that the achieveable precision is quiet good.
Cheers
Johannes
