I've done this with both MP2100 and an eMate (in fact to achieve it, I
put the MP2100 board in the eMate and vice versa - it's the same exact
physical connection so they fit fine).

The MP2100 worked well, the eMate was 'dead' for about 2 days before it
came back to live. I wrote down all the details on my newton hacking web
