Il me semble que le 27/08/03 à 13:45 -0400, Laurent Daudelin nous racontait:
>Is there something we can do to *STOP* this MIME encoding from encoding
>characters like that?
That's a bug in ecartis, the mailing list server software.
I suggested to Victor that we, the French speaking Newton users, are
going to take over NTLK with all these discussions about accents and
bathtubs. He then sardonically said:
>hah, you think that will make me fix the quoted printable bug? NEVER! muahaha
So I suggest three approaches:
- you disable QP in your e-mail client. In Eudora, make sure the QP
button is unchecked (you can make it unchecked for all new
mails/replies by default in the preferences, JPK translated QP by
"imprimable guillemeté").
- you threat Victor of a possible takeover of the French speaking
Newton users over NTLK until he'll have this bug fixed
- you reserve accents to the copy of ecartis that powers the French
speaking Newton mailing list, Newton-FR
