You will definitely get a longer charge with a set of rechargeable
batteries. The only thing to keep in mind is that you won't be able to
recharge them while they are in your Newton. You will have to use an
external NiMH charger that knows how to charge them. You will also have to
get a little program to give you a more accurate remaining charge than what
the Newton can report. That's because the Newton charge circuit is set for
lower capacity NiMH cells.
