Maybe you made your Extras into the Backdrop by accident? Try to close
everything and if Extras shows up open (but still not in the Button
bar) it's your backdrop.
In that case select something else in your Extras (like Notes) and
choose Make Backdrop under the Routing Menu (little envelope icon,
bottom right)
