Josh,

I recently got my first emate as well. I would suggest getting an
ethernet card over a serial adapter cable unless you can find one
cheap. Also, be sure to check your display ribbon, and do the
necessary retrofit. My emate was fine when i got it, but after about 3
weeks of use, broke b/c I didn't do this pretty simple procedure. it
