Thanks to everyone who replied.
So I downloaded the MacSense driver from their
webpage. It's still beta, so I'm guessing that this is
the reason why I didn't have to pay anything or enter
any password.

The bottom line is that after installing the macsense
driver (and deleting the sourseforge one) everything
now works great. I can connect newton wavelan to mac
wavelan no problem.
