Two new documents have been posted to Paul Guyot's "Newton Bowels
Project" at http://www.kallisys.com/newton/bowels Thanks to Paul for
making the information more simple and hosting the pages.
"Drawing Directly on the Screen" explains a how to access the frame
buffer of the 2x00 Newtons. It can be used in C++ to draw to the
screen without going into NewtonScript, or to just draw very quickly.
"Getting the Pen's Position" shows a low level way to get the absolute
position of the stylus. It uses an undocumented function and can be
called from NewtonScript or C++.
For those of you still waiting I am occasionally working on Napalm but
the speed is quite discouraging. Hopefully next week I will put out an
alphaish version for people to try out. I still don't have serial port
access (so no program installing) and graffiti only occasionally works
depending on which pen handling I do. The good news is my rewritten
processor core is about 45K instead of 500K and doesn't get memory
errors.
