Users of Calise cases might want to avoid putting PCMCIA cards in the flap nearest the Newton's display, when the case is closed.
Several years ago I dropped a 120 in a Calise case about 2.5 ft (0.75 ), and had a spare Flash card in such a pocket.
During the impact, a corner of the card compressed against the display and shattered it.
Luckily, it was when Apple still supported Newtons and the display was repaired w/o problem.
A solution might be to put a piece of cardboard in the large flap pocket to help protect the screen?
Note, I still use a Calise case with my 2100:
- Can't beat the quality, durability and convenience
- The old style cell phone pocket is good for carrying a cell phone and reading glasses.
