If it has the latest system patch (717260), you can double-tap the word
"contrast" under the slider and reset it to the middle.

I just got a replacement 2100, and I think that the contrast may be a
little off. When the contrast is set to the middle of the slider,
it's uncomfortably dark. In order to use it, I've to keep it set all
the way to the left. I don't have my old Newt to check, but I could
have sworn that I had more of a range to work with. Is there a way
to fix this, or should I send it back?
