I have noticed something that may be of use.

On my uMP2K, if I am using several packages simultaneously and switch
between them, I am much more likely to see a -61 error than if I quit back
to the backdrop each time.

I am doing the latter whenever practical (which is most of the time) and no
-61s. Except that now I have made it public I expect one right now...
