[NTLK] Importance of "Read/Write" Voltage

I know this has been discussed before but I'm shortly before making a
purchase and can't find the specific information I need in the Newton
FAQ. :-(

How important is the criterium "Read 5v/Write 12v" with a Flash Memory
Card vs. one that has the specifications of "Read 5v/Write 5v" as far as
battery drain, etc. goes? To be more specific, I'm looking at two Pretec
cards, one with 8 MB which is cheaper but supposedly has the first
specifications, and the other with 32 MB which is more expensive (and has
more storage space than I really need) but SUPPOSEDLY has the latter
specs. (I emphasize the word "supposedly" here because from what I could
find at Pretec's website BOTH cards have the same specs with regards to
"Read/Write", i.e. both have values of "Read 5v/Write 12v".)

Thanks for any advice,

Chris Searles
