Hi Paul,
I did find the battery today, it was much easier to find than I expected, since it's apparently widely used for calculators/cameras/what-not, the local drugstore had a nice row of them waiting for me ;)

Alex,
I had the same thing with the MP130 I had, and easily found a battery at a
local everything-under-one-roof store, in the camera department. Your old
backup battery is probably a Duracell, with the number stamped on it. It's
very easy to replace.
I too was surprised about the green hue of the Newton!
Paul

perhaps someone on this list can help:

whenever I restart the MP after recharging my batteries (which I have to
take out of the MP), and thus the clock resets to 1995; what kind of back-up
battery is it? Where should I look to get a new one?

instead of black, is this typical of MP 130s?
