my work load surged this week so i had to postpone my port-speed/slowdown/packaging-installation experiments til last night..

thanks for everybody's input! turns out the standard connection speed (38600) is fine and stable when i run just 2 instances of Slowdown (started out with 4, which rendered my PC nearly inoperable!)
