I got another server reference and my Newton clock got synced.

True, the Newton clock is a very stable one. During the elapsed time (2 years!) between my modem and ethernet I never adjusted the time manually. I did check the time once and a while, as my Newt reminds me of the different meetings I have.

So, why sync?
Well, to have the exact time!
(For whatever "exact" is worth!)
