I was considering glass fiber, but would only be able to determine an
appropriate length and amount via trial and error, not having testing
equipment. Any suggestions Mark?

One answer is to use a reinforced polycarbonate resin. This would have the requisite modulus and ability to withstand cyclic loading needed.
