I bought an eMate off of eBay a few weeks ago because I had always
wanted one since I got to spend a few minutes using one at an Apple
roadshow many years ago. My youngest daughter loves it and recently took
it to school for show-and-tell.
I'm waiting for Apple to come out with a color eMate that would sell for
$200 or so. There is definitely a market for it: schools and kids at
those schools that need a very low-cost computing solution. It doesn't
even have to be color: reading and writing are usually done with a
single hue pencil or pen.
The eMate keyboards are on the small size. I have about average size
hands and the keyboard is a little tricky to use.
