You don't need to Boot os9: you can do this in X.
Just start classic from OSX.
Run: /system folder/apple menu items/chooser
You'll see your old buddy, the Chooser.
Make sure that Appletalk is enabled there.
Run: /system folder/control panels/file sharing
* you MUST NAME YOUR MAC on this control panel**
In OSX, bring up the Network System Pref
Click on the appletalk tab and make sure appletalk is enabled here
Bring up the Sharing System Pref
Name your mac the same as you named it in 9
On the newt, choose prefs/appletalk
Make sure appletalk is using ethertalk i.e. ethernet
It WILL work.
Start NCU in OSX. Enable appletalk connections.
