It's an "expected a string" error, so my guess is that NPDS is having
issues accessing or writing to the prefs file. I would suggest that you
make sure that all of the NPDS packages are on the same store, and then
run the Wipe utility to clear out any weird prefs. Wipe 1.02 can be
downloaded here.
