The chips that fit in the spaces on the 2x00 rom board were apparently
never made.

Technically the DVT board would be fairly simple to reproduce and it
does use common flash chips (for 5 years ofd). Financially the new
boards would be quite expensive (~$100-200+ each) and would have pretty
much no benefit over just sticking an 8 meg card in. However if
someone with tens of thousands of dollars were to reproduce the 2x00
motherboard with only one card slot then it might be useful....
