A friend got one of these (Alphasmarts, not sure how different this newer
model is) for a son with learning difficulties; for typing homework
assignments, going to and fro home/school (middle school), printing,
hooking to mac/PC via USB I think. Works pretty well for that. And it's
much more kidproof than a laptop.
