A lot of interesting formal items and behavior resulted from an attempt to mature and be more business-savvy. I kind of like the cold side of computing and the new Apple seems more gimmicky to me than the one that made the Mac II, the Newton, and the Powerbook. I feel like Apple was more powerful in its austerity than its current "lickable" state. > of it. I guess it was a way of selling the same Macs with hopped up RAM, drives, and processor speed to the general public, but it made support a pain. > Just some food for thought for you guys... Far better, I'm sure. I have a QT150 and it's not all that great (has some chroma problems too that require touching up). Even worse is the software breaks easily if you try to move the system files around too much. I'm running BasiliskII now and while my Newton syncs, the QuickTake won't. If anyone has original disks they can image, let me know (one of my disks has a defect, though I doubt it'll matter). Ugh.. but that allowed me to opt in for the ever-lovable "extended keyboard II" rather than the ergonomic one that cost around $75 or so. > I also remember signing onto eWorld using a Mac emulator on the Amiga. Using an Emplant or ShapeShifter? > Geez. Now I feel old. I may still have an original Macintosh shirt from '84. Anyone remember "Puppy Love"? I put that disk in an OMac128 for a demo and couldn't get it out. I started looking around nervously hoping the sales clerks wouldn't accuse me of getting the disk stuck. Woah..I might have to go hunt that disk down. Maybe play a few rounds of "Brattacus" as well. Or "Make Millions". -Jeff -- This is the NewtonTalk list - http://www.newtontalk.net/ for all inquiries List FAQ/Etiquette/Terms: http://www.newtontalk.net/faq.html Official Newton FAQ: http://www.chuma.org/newton/faq/
