[NTLK] Newtworks to Word/Excel and back

 I have been able to export Newtworks Papers and Worksheets to my Mac and open w/ Word/Excel, but I am unable to reverse the procedure. I have tried saving the new desktop Word file as a .rtf file, but no luck getting it back to the Newt. Same thing w/ spreadsheets. I have the Quickfigure extension and put the appropriate plugin in the folder on the Mac, but no luck getting a worksheet back to the Newt. Would appreciate some step by step instructions.
