The MP3 market wasn't really over-saturated. The few puny offerings were
not really worth mentioning. Most couldn't hold more than a handful of
songs and the ones that could required half the age of the universe to fill
up. It was not hard for Apple to bring something revolutionary into that
market. Not like the cell phone market where you have Nokia, Ericksson,
Moto, etc. slugging it out in a market where new and sexy features reign
supreme.
