Indeed.
NIE TCP/IP stack is weird.
I think it worked at some point, but I don't recall why. It might be
because NPDS was then listening on every port or something like this.
Anyway, it wasn't a normal behavior. The normal behavior is that you
cannot access your Newton's web server unless you use a proxy or some
other tunnel mechanism.
Still. FYI, as bad as the NIE TCP/IP stack could be, it won't crash
your machine or make it unresponsive if you're the victim of a
massive echo packet flood attack. Although I couldn't check because
of a lack of hardware, I've been told it's not true for Palms.
