Correct. Not only a good way, but probably the only way.

You got the procedure slightly wrong. The correct way to perform a
hard reset is

Press and hold down the power switch, then press and hold down the=20
reset button for two seconds. Release the reset button. Continue=20
holding down the power switch until a message appears that asks=20
you if you really want to erase all data. Tap =93Yes=94. When you=20
see a second message asking you if you really want to continue=20
because you are going to lose all data, tap =93yes=94 (or "ok", not =
sure).
