This just sounds like the problem I had. I then discovered that when
pushing the cable towards the card I could get a connection. Of course
theis was nothing but itrying to make a better contact to the cables on
the connector. Try to disassemble the connector on the card sinde. If I
remember correctly you can slide the connector back (after pressing a
small dip) You will see immediately if the connection is well soldered
or not. If if not you at least have ruled out this possibility.
