[NTLK] G3-G4 Workarounds?

Does anyone know any workarounds to connect a Newton to a newer Mac such as (in my case) a
G3 Powerbook or a new DP G4?

I'm assuming NCU could be run in Classic Mode. Would adding a Stealth serial port to
replace the modem on the Desktop unit work?
