Hi,

I still think the simplest approach is to abstract the newton-isms from
the
underlying OS so it could sit on top of anything - win32, wince, osx,
linux etc

I think the closest in terms of the newt ethos in modern terms is
something
like 'chandler' http://www.osafoundation.org/Chandler_rel._0.1.htm or
'spring'
http://www.usercreations.com/spring/

They're certainly not the newt but adding newt-isms to something like
'chandler' or 'spring' would be fairly achievable

Raj.
