You can't, really, since the programs that upgrade the firmware run in
either the Mac OS or in Windows.
If you don't have a computer with a PCMCIA slot, but one that *does*
have an old AirPort card slot, you can upgrade the card by placing it
in the AirPort slot. (You can't connect the antenna, of course, but the
AirPort slot will accomodate a PCMCIA card, and you only need it there
long enough to run the update.) But it's a delicate operation (unless
your AirPort slot is easily accessible, like in the original iBook),
and probably not for the faint of heart.
