The problem you have is that nothing tells your browser what kind of file
you're downloading. If you're running your own web server, you could modify
the Apache configuration to tell the connecting browsers what are the type
of files they are accessing.

In the meantime, after you downloaded Newton packages, use PackType from
Steve Weyer to bring back their file types.
