I've fixed four units using Marco's method, two of my own and two list members' Newts. My two units have been jaggie-free for at least six months.

What convinced me Marco's solution seemed correct was this little test. First I waited until the jaggies got *really* bad. (Frustrating!) Setting the mode to drawing and holding the stylus in my left hand, I drew a freehand line from top to bottom about 2cm from the right hand side in the usual, portrait orientation, while I tapped solidly on the cover latching mechanism. What I saw was a sideways heartbeat trace--sort of. Use your imagination ;-).

What has since pushed me over the edge was opening up the case, shaving away the part of the plastic case that is closest to the screen, and reassembling the unit has left mine jaggie-free ever since.

I have drawings illustrating what part of the inside of the case was removed. I can send these to anyone who wants to see them. Maybe they could be posted to UNNA with a readme file. If you're not handy with a jewelers screwdriver, Dremel or single edge razor blade, or taking things apart, then email me off list at this eddress: doug_at_ispinn.com.
