[NTLK] Batteries in the Newt

Does anyone know if Li-ion batteries suffer from the dreaded memory
effect? Also can they be used in the Newton (in a tray, not as a pack).
I know that Ni-Cd suffer from the memory effect, so only use Ni-MH as
these are supposed to be free from it.
