Well, since you asked :)
My number one outstanding request for the Newton is an SSH client. I
can do almost everything I need, except that.
I know there are implementations of the blowfish cipher and zlib
compression, and there are working terminal programs (PT100, others).
Don't know on the status of any of the sources for those packages
though.
This might be a bit of a tall order for a first package, but I'd be
happy even if you put it on a list and filed it away for when you are
able!
Oh and of course the ability to sync with Linux/*BSD/Solaris
(specifically Ximian Evolution, but also possibly modern versions of the
KDE PIM apps) would be nice.
