Fascinating... I use IE and it took me all of 10 seconds of Command-W-ing
to catch up with the growth in the window population and close the last one=

Just for grins, I also tried Command-Q, which worked just dandy. Of course=

this was under OS 8.1... I suspect that if you'd moused to the menu bar an=

held the button down on the File Menu, it would've eventually popped down
and you could've quit that way.
Sounds like something else may be 'off'... Because of all the buggy web
pages out there, I probably have to Force Quit IE on my OS9 machine @ work,
at least once a week. I generally just turn right back and fire up IE and
just skip the buggy page.
But, as always with computers, YMMV...
