The cable that goes from both the PhoneNet and the LocalTalk is not pictured
on the page. Like you're saying, it is permanently attached to the box, but
the other end has the same pinout than a serial or modem cable. Again,
that's why on the page they mention you need at least the serial cable
pictured at the top of the page, because you can use a serial cable between
2 LocalTalk ports, without the need of the PhoneNet or the LocalTalk boxes.
The cable that connects 2 LocalTalk boxes is specific and has only 3 pins.
This you can see on the picture of the LocalTalk box. The cable that
connects 2 PhoneNet boxes together is a standard RJ45 or a regular telephone
cable. This you can also see on the picture of the PhoneNet...
