I get the same experience w' 2000mAh. It's always a big panic searching
for the 9w power supply when it finally runs flat. The only thing is that
it seems to need two charges to fill it up (i.e., charge, wait
recharge). Then, I get about 2200 mAh, or approx 30 hours with heavy
backlight according to battery counter.

You can also do it with RS ($3) battery sleds. I have had one in mine for
about 9 months, working perfectly. I keep meaning on putting up a howto page.
