I believe it was a failure of Newtourage. The spurious entries in the
'name' soup all have a slot called MSEID that I believe is written by
Newtourage (MSEID could be MicroSoftEntourageIDentifier). So it appears
Newtourage was the responsible agent here. Those MSEID values reached up
into the 6000 range.

Given the behavior of Newtourage that got me into this mess, I have no
confidence in that approach. In addition, there are entries in the Newton
'names' soup that didn't make it into the Entourage database. So to do this
would result in a loss of original NAME entries.

Nope, not yet. I am waiting for my 'blood pressure' to come down.... :-)
