I find that sometimes my SER-001 does not make a reliable connection,
especially if the weight or tension of the serial cable is tugging the
connector to one side.
Also, some people have previously reported that their cases cracked after
having the SER-001 installed for some time:

I just noticed the other day that I have the same crack in my case too.
Sigh... I guess countersinking the screw was a good idea.
