Sure, competition is a good thing. If Ferdi had done all his own
engineering and developed his own serial port interface board, THAT
would be competition.

Taking someone else's pcb design and layout and simply copying it,
then pawning it off as your own, is copyright and patent
infringement. And if your reputation is dodgy at best, you're going
to hurt the reputation of the guy who did all the heavy lifting to
start with, especially if people who don't hang out here don't know
that they're buying an imitation "Rolyx" (intentional misspelling)
instead of the real "Rolex".

And, in this case, they're buying a copy of an early revision that
has bugs. This will, for those who aren't really informed, cause bad
feelings so when PCBMan puts out another run of the REAL SER001,
they're going to tell people that they bought one from ebay and it's
crap.
