So does it work well? Not that I want to encourage anybody to buy this,
I'm far from condoning rip-offs especially within this community, just
curious.

All I can say is it worked for a couple of weeks until I was burgled and the
intruder took a liking to it! I've yet to pluck up courage to fit the
SER-001 to my other MP2000.

Blends in better with the Newton? Cosmetically? I hope you don't mean
that, first of all it's behind a little door for starters and a
permanent marker would take card of your color 'problem' within seconds.

Each to their own, but black is better than white on a Newton and PCB man
said in a personal email "I conceed that black blends better"

Apart from this I'm quite appalled that Ferdi is doing this and would
like second David's appeal for giving him the cold shoulder.

Please note that I've often defended Ferdi in the past and not very
quick to pass judgments, he just went way too far here in my book.

I'm not sloping shoulders, but I'm new to the Newton and this group, and
there is obviously some long standing animosity here. I've also read the
legal arguments. I'm not prepared to make any formal comment. Ferdi has also
communicated his thoughts to me and there are two sides to every story. I'm
not passing judgement and I hope not too many emails will continue on this
subject. Let each decide for himself with whom (s)he will deal.
