If nbplkup shows the printer, everything is set up right on the linux side.
Check if you have selected the right network protocol (i.e. ethernet) on the
eMate.

Open an application with printing support on the eMate and select "choose
network printer" (I believe this is the correct wording). Only then will the
eMate actually go looking on the network. The printer should turn up with the
same name you gave it in the netatalk config file. If so, happy printing.

All this of course in the hope that the eMate does things in a similar way to
the 2000/2100.
