To find out if that's the cause, you should run tcpdump on the Linux box to
sniff for any AppleTalk traffic, and then use your gf's Mac or the Newton to
search for resources. You should see broadcast packets hitting the Linux box.
If you don't then I'd be 99% sure it's the router.
