This can mean one of two things.
1)the flash memory uses a battery and it is indeed
dead. If this is the case, then you should see a pin
near where the write protect switch is that allows you
to pull the battery out of the card. Be careful
though, if you to this outside the Newt, you will
loose the card's contents. replacing the battery while
the card is plugged into the Newt will retain the
card's content
2) The card doesn't have a battery. If this is the
case, then the card is toast. This error has cropped
up many times on this list and is well documented in
the archives. Check the archives for other's attempts
to revive these cards.
