I think that the Newton Connection Kit is for connecting your Message
Pad OS 1.x to your desktop. You may get a serial cable, but the
software for this and most other Apple software for the Newton is
downloadable from UNNA.
Most people are connecting to the net with wired or wireless ethernet
cards (both require that you are running OS 2.1).
Necessary drivers for wired ethernet can be downloaded from UNNA or
<http://newton.tek-ed.com/>
